Great pic Shannon  Yes!

I've got a funny little story for you all.  I asked Beth who she would like to come to her 3rd (yes, 3rd  Shocked) birthday party.  Her reply was "Santa and Easter Bunny".  I wonder if they will be available??

I hope she won't be too disappointed with me, her daddy and the cat  Laugh

hi peeps, we found out (me and julie that is) on boxing day that we are expecting a baby,
we told very few people til now,
we went for our first scan in feb which was unreal looking at your baby is surreal and i cant even explain it in words,it nearly had me in tears,so small but perfect.
we went for our second scan on the 17th of this month,we were told that there is a chance it might be a boy, im happy about it even though julie wants a girl,
we also found out he has a right cystic kidney,we were both very shocked but the midwife says all will be ok,just have to watch it etc,

when i get a scanner etc i will be post ultasound pics and when baby is born i will be posting them,
has anyone elses kids had a cystic kidney on here and can you tell me how that went,

peace and love,

colby xx

CONGRATULATIONS Colby & Julie and your fastastic news.  Please do keep us posted on how things are going as we'd all like to know the latest.

I know what you mean about seeing your little one on the scan for the first time.  It really is a special moment.  Yes!

I've heard a little bit about cystic kidneys, although my daughter didn't have it.  I think it depends on how big the cyst(s) are, how many there are, and if they are on both kidneys as to the symptoms that will occur.  I think if it is mild then there are no symptoms at all and no treatment is required.  I think that the doctor's will wait until your little one is born and see how he gets on before deciding on any treatment.  He might just wee a lot because the kidneys are there to control waste from the blood.  If this function is not working 100% then it'll just mean he will have lots of wet nappies.   Grin

I think you should talk to your consultant next time Julie is at her next check-up just to have your mind put at rest.

Hope Julie enjoys the rest of her pregnancy.  When is it due?

p.s. they don't usually get the sex of the baby wrong when it's a boy.  Girls are harder to be sure about, but boys are much easier.   Tongue

Emma, your photo's are great.  The chocolate cake looks yummy.  Tongue Ruby is growing up fast too and is such a pretty little girl.

Here's some pix of my little one.  One dressed as a Victorian child (I don't normall dress here like that!), one with a bunny face (at Easter), another one at Easter when it snowed  Undecided and finally the Easter cakes and eggs Beth made/decorated.

thanks mutley from both i and julie, the latest is that we saw a consultant who knows about kidneys,he said that we have to go back when julie is 32 weeks gone for another scan but if the cysts dont grow any larger then they will most probably shrink and our son will be left with just one kidney,
people can survive on one kidney so no probs there,if they grow they may decide to wait till he is born then give him antibiotics,,if they continue growing after that it will be removing the right kidney which is a prob,

that first scan was amazing then listening to the fast strong heartbeat, its amazing exciting, you go through so many emotions in one go and cant explain any of them, the one word i would use is magical because it seems so unreal before and a dream after until he gets here i suppose  Grin

sorry i forgot to put when he is due, clumsy me  Laugh
he is due on the 25th of aug,so not long really, must also say that julie hasnt gained that much stomach weight,he is always at the back when they scan, but yeah im excited, wet nappies, sleepless nights etc BRING IT ON,YES I DO MEAN IT ASWELL,

why can they get it wrong with girls?? only joking,  Yes! Laugh Lips Sealed Roll Eyes

well julie is taking it easy nowwadays but not too much,

 Kiss Kiss

 nowt watching good old tele.

It's so nice to hear your excitement about your little one.  It really is the best feeling in the world having your own child.  It is hard work too, especially when you are tired, but totally worth it though.  I've  changed since having my daughter - for the better.  Grin

I'm pleased that you've spoken to a consultant about the kidney issue.  I'm sure it will be ok.  And as you said, if the worst happens and he has to have the kidney removed, he will be fine with one.

Hope Julie is feeling ok and not suffering too much with morning sickness etc.  I guess she'll be feeling the baby move soon.

Love to you both

OMG Jane, that little girl of yours!! I love the pic of her in victorian dress, she just such a gorgeous sweetheart. And i am so pleased to see her red hair hasn't changed colour. Wink  Ruby was very taken with the picture of her in the snow, she kept saying "i wanna see Beff again! Where's Beff in the snow?" lol

And Colby, I hope everything goes well for you and Julie, it sounds like you're getting good advice from the specialist and everyone. It's an exciting and scary time, it just seems like yesterday I had my first baby and now he is almost 8! Keep us posted on everything.
