Live can be so cruel...yesterday morning, my uncle was in the train, on his way to work. He fell asleep, his heart stopped beating and he died in just one second... Cry Cry

sounds like a shitty situation roxgirl, hopefully the staff representative takes it seriously and can finally help you with it.
you do like the company you're working at? i mean would it make you happy working there with more tasks and responsibility?

oh & there's definitely stuff going on in my life, but not only good stuff anymore Sad

Yes, I'd already be happy if they found something for me to do. (But let's face it, it's actually the wrong company since I am a language person and they don't really need languages.)

She talked to my boss's stand-in who explained to me that in 8 - 10 weeks' time, he might know what work he might have for me. A statement, finally. Then there is still the option to talk to the head of HR. She told me it would be a problem to "import" work to my place from somewhere else, "exporting" me includes the problem of finding a suitable job (that justifies my wage - but they don't mind paying me for doing nothing?!) and working reduced hours would mean less money (oh really?!) - and the problem to find some other place since on this desk, it will probably not be made possible.

I really doubt I have a future in this company and my next project is to work on my CV and stuff. I haven't given up hope yet that a suitable job might be somewhere out there. I am also thinking about applying for some kind of medical rehab to get my mind free again for something new. (My doctor offered this option to me and I am gradually warming up to the thought.)

Sorry about the not so good stuff in your life, Sarah.

Oh my god! :O so sorry for your loss Kerstin! must be so devastating to loose someone that suddenly.

It's so weird how life can change in just a second, how everything around you is different all of a sudden. I'm kind of going through that now because i got some really bad news about a person i love dearly last wednesday. He's sick, very sick and the doctors can't tell much yet. He'll be operated tomorrow, they'll take a biopsy and then it's another week until they can say something for sure. And start treatment.
Oh and he's a kid. How unfair is this?! Cry

Thanks sarah.
Well, he was cardiac and the doc who did the autopsy afterwards said his death was only a question of time cos his heart was so weak already...

That sounds so terrible, sarah, hopefully it will be not that bad as it looks right now.

Oh my God...I'm sorry for that...the strange thing also is that the same thing (really the same thing) happened to a colleague of mine too some time ago.

All the best to you Kerstin!!!

Kerstin:how are you coping? Hope the funeral was a beautiful goodbye to your uncle.           For my friends with their sick son the nervwracking waiting for the biopsy results is only one more day.tomorrow is the day that will determine his future. And i'm not even near to support them,am actually writing this while waiting for my plane at the airport.but will for sure be thinking about them all day.today i'm leaving for Copenhagen btw tomorrow my friend & me will leave for Skagen in northern (mainland) Denmark.will be back in a week!

Yes, it was really nice. A lot of people (family and friends) attended him to his final resting place. Well, we get along...we have to cos there's nothing that can change it.

Ah great Kerstin congratulations! Thumbs Up
It's nice when something good is happening again isn't it? Would you like to tell us what job it is?!

Good news for my friends last week, their son has a braintumour but it's benign & actually they're not going to do anything about it right now. So good to know it's benign, even if it's still a freaky 8cm big thing that shouldn't be there of course & you don't know what's going to happen in the future.
For now the only thing scheduled is another MRIscan in 3 months, in the mean time he can go & play football as much as he wants and that is of course all that matters to a 7-year-old Smiley

Oh and i absolutely love my new job, a week of training in both Copenhagen & Oslo in september and a week and a half of training at a university in Melbourne (!!!) in October, *lalalalalaaaaaaaaaa* Grin

Oh yes, I really believe that you love this job.  Yes!

Good to hear that the little one's "problem" is benign and that he can play his football... but why does something like that have to happen to such a young child?! Sometimes I don't understand the universe...

Thanks, sarah Smiley

The job is about programming browser based document management systems. Somehow a virtual filing cabinet.

About your friends son, that sounds like blessing in disguise. Lets hope it wont get worse.

Melbourne, cool Thumbs Up what kind of training is it?

Kerstin have you started your new job yet? I'm starting on monday! Can't wait Grin
The training in Melbourne is an agent workshop at the university there, as i'm helping students to study abroad in my new job i'm actually an agent for the universities we work for, so now this particular university is offering a week-long training in that. Which i don't mind doing at all of course Tongue

Oh and i have a new laptop! See picture  Cheesy
Had my old one for almost 5 years, the thing was killing me with it's slowness! This one is fast & i got a major discount as i got a mobile internet connection with it at the same time!
