he said a while ago "if you don't like it, don't buy it" - first I thought "wtf?" but then I actually thought he is right and I applied it to his last album Grin
I got the MP3s first as I didn't want to spend the money for nothing, and see, it saved me some Euro Wink

Well I think this is a good opinion of him. We don't have to buy if we don't like.
And as  I said, I don't think he's arrogant. He can afford doing what he wants, he is not in need to have people buy all his stuff.

1.In fact it's a litlle bit arrogant ,cos music cd isn't a bread.
You know that you don't like white bread ,but how can you know that you would like the new cd before you buy it?
Movie and music biz are makegoodreclame-notgoodproduct biz.

Thanks we have pirate sites in these days , and no need to spend money for garbage.
But you know --in my country it's still illigal and police shut down such  sites.

2.When he or music company puts 3 diffrent good songs in 3 different versions of an album don't expect  from me "BIG thanks for good biz decision!!!"
Yes this shows that they think about fans (nobody else will buy such albums) but we can't call it "good thinking" can we?

3.Thanks God for the skip button on CD and for possibility to cut from mp3 part with back singers you don't like.
Try it -the cut-album is PERfect!

4.he is "not in need to have people buy " new stuff cos they gave him money for old stuffs.
I think he earn mone but we earn simple "thank you" - i respect your opinion .

And finaly - why we can't say what we want?
Isn't it a free world?

It is not mandatory to buy every version available out there. That's only for die-hard collectors. For example, I only got the 2-CD edition of EHM, because it has 4 extra songs. But it doesn't mean I HAVE TO BUY the 1-CD version too.

And yes. We can say what we want, but be aware our wishes don't have to be pleased all the time.

Well I won't judge him, he is in a position where he can say what he wants. An artist who starts in this business will think twice before sending such a letter to the fans Wink

I have talked with another artist I like about her music, why I liked the last album and not the previous to it, and guess what, it was a nice chat, I got some answers to my questions, and some comments how she sees it. In the end, she told me she is also more satisfied with the last album.

On the other hand, I kind of understood his reaction because some years ago people were just in to complain, complain, complain. I guess 1 week reading TDR can lead to such reaction Wink

In general, if at work somebody gives me (bad) feedback, it is still my decision if I want to do something with the feedback or not, change something in myself or not; but the least one can do is to listen and thank the person for taking his time and bother to give me feedback. It never went through my head to say "if you don't like working with me, go find another job". I think respect both ways plays a big role here.
Of course, if a person is only unpolitely complaining for what I think no reason, I will get annoyed.

But as I said, it is actually true, I didn't like EHM and I didn't buy it, so I won't ever ever have a complete Gessle collection. Wow, shame on me Grin Guess what, I'm still alive Wink

Well said!...I just grabbed the SOAP album for reasons I don't know I started to listen to it again...Wink It's not bad but it will never be my fave.
@Judith: I think I know the artist you mentionend...but that would be off topic again. Greet her..I love both albums. Wink

And well...I bought some albums from other artists the last time where I only liked maybe 3 songs on it that it really depresses me. Is there no good music outside anymore? Or is it the fault of my strange taste?

So I just can say: Per release whatever you like!! At least you still put more than 3 songs on albums I like. Smiley

If Per finally releases a new album in November then great, i'm sure i will be one of those who will buy it the day it comes out.
Thanx god people have different tastes otherwise life would be too boring.
Some of us like Pers music style others prefer Marie's and we should respect that. Some of us hate Helenas voice others love it and what?? do we have to fight couse that???
nowadays you can buy only the songs you like in places like i-tunes, so if you don't like something you don't have to buy it. I know i would never have a complete collection of Per & Maries music,  i won't buy all of Roxettes greatests hits, couse is stupid, having the same songs 200 times it doesn't make any sense to me. In the other hand I haven't got all of Maries albums and i wont buy them, but that doesn't mean that i'm going to start a fight with someone just because he or she wants me to buy all the albums.
I guess that Per's reaction with all the roxbox thing was quite "normal", i guess he just started reading the comments in TDR and got angry. He's human so why wouldn't he get angry??? i would have got angry myself if someone said all the things about myself  as he had to read about himself there. Think about it wouldn't you get angry too???

I can understand that some people don't understand my sense of humor. I can understand that others maybe take personal my jokes and feels offended by my words. What I can't understand is why they ask to Jorge to censor my posts. Aren't we adults?
Civilizated people usually express their views and respect the views outside. Censorship isn't the right way to talk. I come from a free country where people dialogue and respect each other.
It is sad that these things happen in the twenty-first century

My oh my, i had a good time reading through all these posts  Laugh ...sometimes discussions just seem to repeat themselves over & over again.
and before people might get this wrong; i don't mind, everybody has a right to his/her own opinion of course!!!

Gladly Per has this right too & indeed just does as he feels like, gotta love him for that!

Oh & i know someone who once said to Per 'Hey man I think you're a great guy but I don't like Roxette's music', Per just laughed  Smiley

Something... It could be a double compilation with all his hits from 'Per Gessle' (1983) to 'En händig man' (2007). I know it sounds macabre, but this kind of anniversaries is always the perfect ocassion to release compilations and 'special editions' of old stuff. That's how the big companies make their business...
